Sandra Adams

Sandra graduated from the University of California, Irvine where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. She received her Master of Science in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne. She has worked in international education since 1991 where she developed numerous programs for international organizations, schools, and universities. She enjoys hiking, developing new programs, and meeting and exceeding student expectations!

Tanya Chavez

Accounting and Admisssions Specialist

Tanya graduated from California State University in Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radiation Therapy. She has worked as a radiation therapist and works part-time at AEI to oversee the accounting and admissions functions. She enjoys travelling to different parts of the world such as Argentina and Chile, cooking, and playing basketball.

Sabehha Asad

Student Services Coordinator/ Substitute Instructor

Sabehha is currently a senior at California State University, San Bernardino. She will graduate with a BA in English with an emphasis in Linguistics in June 2015. She plans to then enter the Applied Linguistics master's program. She coordinates all phases of operations from marketing to student services. She also serves as a substitute instructor. She plans to follow her dream and become an English professor. She enjoys fitness, trying new foods, and going places she've never been before.

 

Yuu Takeda

Student Services Coordinator and Marketing Coordinator

Yuu is currently a sophomore at  the University of California, Riverside. She will receive a BS degree in Business Administration and Marketing and a minor in International Relations in June 2020. After she graduates, she wants to pursue a career in Japan in order to foster positive relationships with America and Japan. Her role at AEI is to support students and perform all the duties required for students to enroll at this school, as well as promote the brand of AEI to the community. On her free time, she enjoys running, reading books, traveling, and eating new types of food!

Carol Williams Kisch

Instructor

Carol received her B.A. in French Literature from Swarthmore College and her M.A. in Education from Claremont Graduate School. She has taught English in Burkina Faso, West Africa; Paris, France; Edinburgh, Scotland, and recently retired after 38 years at the University of California, Riverside. She especially loves to teach academic writing. In her free time, she often travels to Hungary or to her family's cabin in the forest or stays home to read, garden, and visit with her family and friends.

Nicole Hoelle

Instructor

Nicole received her B.A. in English from the University of Redlands and her M.A. in English from San Francisco State university. Also she attended an MFA program at UC Riverside. She has taught for more than 15 years at both of public and private schools. She also is a lecturer at several community colleges and universities. She is an accomplished writer and has had several short stories published in journals and literary magazines. She enjoys reading, Amazon T.V., hanging out with her dog Rosie and interacting with students from all over the world.

Leen Kawas

Instructor

Leen graduated from the University of Damascus in Syria where she taught English in high school for 10 years.  She has received her TESOL certificate.  She enjoys salsa dancing, writing short stories, playing piano and researching and translating Arabic authors into English.  Students enjoy her humour in class and her assignments that allow students to improve their English and academic skills.

Maria Lama

Instructor

Maria received her B.A. in Communications and minor in Law Society from the UC Riverside and TEFL certification from UCR Extension. She has taught for 6 years, from kids to seniors. She likes music, movies and photography. 

Crystal Rivera

Instructor

Crystal graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in languages and Education. She has taught and tutored for almost ten years, from pre-kindergarten to adults. Recently, she spent two years teaching in Seoul, South Korea. She is fond of books, coffee, sweets, travelling, spending time with loved ones, and taking road trips with her dog.

Candace Jorgensen

Instructor

Candace has a B.A. in journalism & public relations and M.A. in education / TESOL emphasis from La Sierra University. She also holds two ESL certificates from UC Riverside Extension. She has taught English for 11 years. She enjoys travelling around the world, and she has actually lived in several countries. Her own challenges with learning other languages give her extra empathy with students learning English.

Mitch Nesbitt

English Instructor

Mitch graduated from UC Riverside with a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics. He received his TEFL Certificate and has taught a wide variety of students English. He has been studying Japanese for three years and hopes to eventually teach in Japan. He teaches reading, writing, and speaking and listening in AEI's Intensive English Program. Mitch creates a stress-free, friendly environment at AEI which enables students to learn easily and effectively.  The small classes also allow him to provide his students with one-on-one attention. His goal for his students is to learn to communicate in English so they can realize their goals.
